The schooner Orpheus has sailed from Dunedin for Napier. She calls at Montevideo and Teneriffe en route. This morning the cargo steamer Otarama \ leaves for Wefiiugtan. Yesterday morning the Union Company's steamer Hauroto arrived at the BlulJ from Melbourne and Hobart. The Waiotahi towed down the lona to the Breastwork near the Auckland Dock. The lona will be floated into the dock this morning for general overhaul, prior to being placed in the Argyll's running to Kuaotunu, Mercury Bay.Tairua, and the Great Barrier, the latter steamer going into the Thames trade. To-day the Union Company's steamer Talune leaves the Bluff for Hobart and Melbourne. The barque Northern Chief which left Newcastle for this port on the sth inst., was reported outside in the Gulf last night, and should make the harbour this morning. To-day the Union Co.'s steamer Australia from Wellington and the East Coast is due. THE TARAWERA. The Union Co.'s steamer Tarawera, Captain W. C. Sinclair, arrived from Sydney at 5.40 a.m. yesterday. Mr. W. H. Bourne, the purser, to whom we are indebted for our files, reports :--The Tarawera left the Margaret-street wharf, Sydney. at7.45p.m. on the 11th instant, clearing the Heads at 8.40 p.m. Had the Three Kings abeam at 9.45 a.m. on the 15th, and rounded the North Cape at 2 p.m. the same date, arriving as above. Experienced fine bright weather, with variable winds and sea to arrival. The Tarawera leaves for East Coast and Southern ports this afternoon. * THE MANAPOURI. At ten o'clock yesterday morning the Union Company's steamer Manapouri, Captain Johu Auderson, arrived from Southern and East Coast ports. Mr. Naucarrow, the purser, to whom we are indebted for our files, reports The Mauapouri left the Port Chalmers Wharf at 4 p.m. on the 11th inst. and called at Lyttelton on the 12th, Wellington on the 13th, Napier on the 14th, aud Gisborne on the loth, leaving the latter port at 10.45 a.m. the same date and arriving as stated. Experienced light variable winds and line weather on the coast. The Manapouri proceeds to Sydney at 5 p.m. to-day. IHE WARSHIPS. The Ringarooma leaves for the South this morning. The flagship Orlando arrived at Sydney on the 7th iust. after a lengthy cruise amongst the Islands. The officers and crew enjoyed good health throughout the trip. At Port Moresby Staff-engineer W. C. Fincham joined the flagship, vice Mr. R. Wilby, who has returned to England. The Orlando is undergoing refit and necessary repairs which are expected to occupy about six weeks, and then proceeds to Melbourne to be present on the arrival of Lord Brassey, the new Governor of Victoria. During her cruise in the Solomon Group H.M.s. Orlando met the gunboat Ringdove at Ugi. The captain of the Ringdove reported to the Admiral that bis vessel had been ashore in the group. Divers belonging to the Orlando were sent down to make an examination of the Ringdove, and they found that some 20 or 30 sheets of copper had been torn off. These were immediately replaced, and the gunboat, which was otherwise uninjured, resumed her cruise. It appears that the Ringdove touched an uncharted patch in daylight, and floated off with the rise of the tide. PORT OP ON EH UNO A. ARRIVALS.
