PROHIBITION LEAGUE AND NEW LICENSING BILL.
[by telegraph.—press ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Saturday. At a meeting of the Wellington Prohibition League resolutions were unanimously passed strongly condemning the complication of the ballot-paper and the neutralising of the temperance vote by the repeal of the provision under which no-license voters are counted for redaction if no license is not carried, and suggesting that the minimum reduction should be fixed at 25 per cent. Strong objection was also taken to the provision for an increase of licenses as retrogressive, and unwarranted by public opinion. •
