A meeting of the Lodge United Service will be held this evening at the Freemasons' Hall. A complimentary benefit will be tendered to Mr. Gerald Shaw, on Friday next, in the City Hall, under the patronage of the Mayor. A number of well-known musical ladies and gentlemen have given their services. The Akarana Club will appear in the comedy "Up in the World." Hunter's Brass Band will also take part in the programme. Mr. R. C. Greenwood notifies elsewhere a meeting of shareholders in certain mines, to be held at the Chamber of Commerce, tomorrow afternoon at three o'clock. A concert in aid of the Devonport School Library will be given to-morrow evening in the Devonport Hall. A meeting of the Helensville Coal Prospecting Company will be held this evening in the Foresters' Hall, Helens ville. Arctic down quilts just opened. A large and particularly choice selection. D.S.C.
