THE RECENT TRAIN ACCIDENT AT NAPIER.
[B? TELEGRAPH.— PRESS association.] Napiek, Monday. A few days ago the express train had a narrow escape from derailment within the town limits from a large stone placed on the line. The cow-catcher threw ib on one side, and tho only damage was the smashing of the engine's break gear. As the result of inquiries, Detective Kirhy arrested Adam Crowne, a boy of 10 years of age, who confessed to having pub a stone on the line. The boy was charged at the S.M. Court this morning. When he saw the stone in court he at once said ib was not the one he pub on tho line, bub a very much larger one. He was acquitted.
