MR. GEORGE DARRELL'S DRAMATIC SEASON.
On Saturday night there was again a large audience to witness the production of "Life for Life," by Mr. Geo. Darrell and his company. The piece will be repeated this evening for the last time. On Tuesday night •' The Sunny South" will be given, the piece being the greatest of Mr. Darrell's successes. With this drama he made a dramatic record, and the prices for Auckland, both for a night and a week's season, on the occasion of his last visit here. This piece will be followed by " East Lynne" (Mrs. Wood's version), in which Mr. Darrell will take the part of Levison, which he played for over 600 nights in London. This will serve to show Mr. Darrell in a different character to any he has played in Auckland during the present season, that of the villain instead of the hero. Miss Harrie Ireland will sustain the character of Lady Isabel. Mr. Darrell's season in Auckland is very limited, and cannot extend beyond next Monday night, the company .being booked to appear in Napier on the 7th June.
