HOME MISSION IN TEE NORTH.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l am afraid the statement in yesterday's issue, by your Hukerenui South correspondent, " That April 7 was the last appearance of Mr. Harry Long, who has been holding services monthly," etc., will mislead Auckland supporters of the Mission. It was under consideration to remove Mr. Long to the Upper Thames district, but at the conference held at Grahamsfcown at Easter it was unanimously resolved that Mr. H. Long continues his Home Mission work in the game districts north of Kamo as he has been labouring in for the last two years. Though an itinerant missionary is required for the goldfields, the committee of the Auckland District Association considered the Whangarei County settlers and gumfields had the greater claim. The work is carried on on unsectarian lines, and purely by voluntary contributions.—l am, etc., April 30, 1895. J. Tonson Garlick.
