«►- AUCKLAND AMATEUR ATHLETIC AND 'CYCLING CLUB. The Domain Cricket Ground presented a very animated appearance on Saturday, March 16, ou the occasion of the Autumn Carnival of the- Amateur Athletic and 'Cycling Club, which passed, off most successfully. The arrangements of the committee for the carrying out of the long programme were as complete as they possibly could be. All worked with a will in the discharge of their various duties. The members of the Society of Oddfellows gave a picnic on Saturday, March 9. which was one of the most satisfactory affairs of the kind ever seen hero. Steamers came from various parts to tho scene on the island of Mototapu, and, altogether, it is estimated that close on 10,000 persons were present. During the duy two hunting crops, gold mounted, each bearing suitable inscriptions, wero presented to Messrs. Reid Brothers, the owners of Motutapu, for the permission they give to hold the Oddfellows' picnios at Motulapu, and for their many kindnesses in connection therewith. The sports were carried through with much success.

The 100 Yards Swimming Championship of Wellington was won by H. W. Thompeon; R. Grimineth, 2; H. H. Dacre, 3. Time, Ira. 23?.
