POLO TOURNAMENT.

[BT TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION. J *> - Christohurch, Thursday. THE Polo Savile Cup Tournament was continued to-day. The weather was overcast and bitterly cold, and the attendance was not large. The matches were Manawatu v. Rangitikei No. 1, and Ashburton v. Rangitikei No. 2. Manawatu immediately became aggressive, and Rtngitikei was repeatedly forced in the first ten minutes and towards the end of the spell Baker scored. Immediately afterwards a capital rush by Sanderson, and Wilson ended in Bill scoring for Rangitikei. A few minutes after the resumption of play Bill again scored, but Baker speedily equalised matters by netting a second goal for Manawatu. The third spell ended without any scores having been made. Under the regulations the game was therefore continued, and five minutes after the commencement of the extra spell Lloyd took the ball the whole length of the ground to just in front of the Rangitikei goal. Here he lost it, but Baker, just behind, drove the ball between the posts. ami the game ended : Manawatu, 3 goals; Rangitikei, 2 goals. In the second game Rangitikei had all the best of the play in the first ten minutes, and Ashburton was forced repeatedly. Towards the close of the first spell W. A. Keiller scored for the Northern team. At the commencement of the second spell W. A. Keiller again scored, but shortly afterwards Buckley hit a goal for Ashburton. Immediately after the start of the third spell Dalrymple and E. Keiller scored for Rangitikei. Shortly afterwards Wilson increased the score, and E. Keiller followed his p\->mple. Wilson scoring again, the game t, led: Rangitikei, 4; Ashburton, 1. The following were the teams engaged to-day: Rangitikei First: A. H. Bill, W. G. Riddiford, J. G. Wilson, and E. F. Blundell. Manawatu : A. Williams, A. S. Baker, F. Scow, and W. B. Llovd. Ashburton: F. Claridge, G. A M. Buckley, E. Roberts, and E. Saunders. Rangitikei Second: G. A. Wilson, E. Keiller, K. Dalrymple, and W. A. Keiller. The tournament will be concluded to-day, when Manawatu meet Rangitikei No. 1.
