Last Sunday being within the Octave of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin, the services at Sb. Patrick's Cathedral were commemorative of the festival. At eleven a.m. the Rev. Father Kehoe, of Gisborne, sang High Mass. The choir, under its able conductor, Mr. Hiecocks, rendered in a most devotional manner Millard's " Mass." Miss Hargreaves sang a beautiful offertorium at the service. Mr. Hafbwell (who has just recovered from his late illness) presiding at the organ with fine effect. . The Rev. Father Madden, late of the archdiocese of Welling ton, delivered an excellent discourse. Father Madden has just beon appointed parish priest of St. Patrick's, in lieu of the lev. Father Walsh, who has been translated at his own request to the archdiocese of Wellington, where he now fills an important position. At vespers the choir rendered with fine effect the usual vesper service. The Rev. Father Madden preached an impressive sermon. ; Baldness, grayness, and other imperfections of the hair will be regarded as inexcusable after a trial of Mrs, S. A. Allen's World's Hair Restorer. 12
