Last Saturday night the shops were open as usual, the public showing no sign of preparation for the new order of things. A Christcharch paper says it is currently rumoured that, as the r<jsalt of an interview between Lieutenant-Colonel Hume and a Dumber of prominent Prohibitionists, several police changes will be made in the Christchnrch district, incuding the transfer of at least one member of the detective branch, the grievance against whom is that he has relatives iu Christchurch in the licensing trade.
