BANK AMALGAMATION.
SUGGESTION FOR THE RECONSTRUCTED BANKS. Press Association.—Electric Telegraph.— London, February 2. The Bankers' Magazine considers that the reconstruction schemes offer no real impediment to the amalgamation of the Australian banks, which would strengthen them in the eyes of the public and of creditors. It goes on to say that no reconstructed bank is able to again ask creditors without some such scheme.
