INTERNATIONAL CRICKET.

ENGLAND V. AUSTRALIA. THE FOURTH TEST MATCH. Press Association.—Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Sydney, February 2. Blackham is well satisfied with the score made by the Australians yesterday, and considers 100 would have been a good total on such a sticky wicket. Stoddart will possibly repent having sent the Australians in yesterday, as heavy rain fell during the night. The wicket is now sodden. The complete failure of the New South Wales batsmen came as a disappointment to the local public. Later. Shortly after midday the rain fell heavily aud the wind increased almost to a gale. The wicket is under water, and there is no chance of the fourth test match being continued to-day. Sydney, February 3. There was a large attendance on the ground yesterday in anticipation of the resumption of the cricket match. A lot of rain fell during the night, and during the forenoon showers fell, and appearances were generally threatening. There was a heavy downpour just before noon, and the game was postponed until after the luncheon hour. About one o'clock a gale set in, accompanied with a beating rain, and this sort of weather continued all the afternoon and night. Those in exposed positions were driven into the pavilions, where they waited until half-past two, when it was decided to postpone the game for the day. The wicket at times was partially submerged, but to-day a strong drying wind is blowing with a strong sun, and if there is no more rain the pitch will be greatly improved by Monday.
