Moanataiari.—Cleaning up and retorting for this company took ploce to-day with the following results : —276 tons of quartz and 80 pounds of picked stone yielded 2300z retorted gold, and 498 tons of surface dirt 250z. The combined melted weight) was 2520z 6dwt. May Queen.The main crosscut at No. 6 level has been extended a distance of 26 feet during the past week which makes a total length of 172 foeb now opened up past No. 4 reef, and leaves 46 foeb further to drive before a connection with the Queen of May shaft is effected. The country penetrated during the week has been rather tight, but in the face to-day a change to easier ground appeared to be coming in. There is yet no change in the character of No. 4 reef at the point where it. is being driven upon eastward at No. 6 level, it still being broken up and undefined.
