«. New Zealand Herald Office, Tuesday evening. Mb. J. Thornks reports the sale of building allotment in Franklin Road, being lot 2 of a subdivision of lot 36, having a frontage of 35 feet, for the sum of £120, Mr. Richards being the purchaser. Figgis and Co. report :—After the November auctions about 500 cases were sold at about sales' prices. day about 2580 cases were offered and 2000 eases sold. Prices are about the same as last month, and though some mixed and common lots were cheap and irregular, we do not alter quotations. Deliveries continue good. Rescraped sold well; 200 cases sold at £6 5s to £8. Three-quarter-scraped quite firm ; 350 cases sold at £3 6s to £4; half scraped sorts irregular, good lots quite steady ; 460 cases sold at £2 28 to £2 10s. Chips, good pale scarce, good middling sold well, common mixed irregular ; 150 cases sold at £1 9s to £3 3s. Sittings and dust firm. Bush gum, firm; 250 cases sold well. Dark brown, steady; 300 cases sold firmly, except for common mixed. The assortment offered was about: Eight cases dial, 210 cases re-scraped, 510 cases three - quarter - scraped, 510 cases halfscraped, 190 cases pickings, 270 cases bush, 560 cases dark brown, 170 cases chips, 140 bags dust and sittings. BY TELEGRAPH. WOOL. Timaru, January 22.—The seoond series of wool sales were held to-day, when 3869 bales were submitted. In the best wools the prices were id to Id higher than the previous sales.
