[BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Napier, Thursday. , An infanb named Goulett was discovered dead in bed this morning. At the inquest a verdict of " Overlain by its mother" was returned. Wellington, Thursday. The Whakatipu, which arrived from Sydney, brought 89 passengers, 63 of whom landed here. Dunedin, Thursday. The sudden death has been reported to the police of a female child of a woman named Ellen McGee. The latter lived with a Mrs Finche, to whom she entrusted the child on Wednesday while she went out for some beer. When she returned, Mrs. Finche handed her the child, saying ib would not trouble her much longer. The child was pub to bed, and when McGee woke this morning she found it dead. At the Police Court three brothers named King were fined for disturbing the services of the Salvation Army, Mr. Carew, S.M., saying the disturbance was one of the worst he had ever heard of in a place of worship. •.«,., Nelson, Thursday. The Acclimatisation Society to-nighb fixed the deer-shooting season from 16th February to the Bth April.
