[BT TELEGRAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] Thames, Tuesday. A TOONO man named Philip M. Mulligan, eon of Mr. M. Mulligan of the Cornwall Anna Hotel, died this afternoon from inflammation of the lungs. Deceased was one of the assistant teachers at the Kauaoranga Boys School, and stood high in the estimation of all who knew him. Great sympathy in felt for the bereaved parents. The body of the man Thos. Reid, who was drowned in the harbour last Friday, was found by two fishermen named James Lambert, and Wm. Humphries, this morning, floating near the entrance of the Piako River. They towed the remains across to Shortland, and this afternoon an inquest was held, when a verdict was returned, , That the deceased met his death by accidental drowning." 1 '
