Washington, January 14. The Hawaiian Minister for Foreign Affairs has arrived here to support the proposed American cable to Hawaii. He declares the Hawaiian Government is averse to a foreign-owned cable.
The Republicans advocate a subsidy for laying an American cable to Hawaii, instead of granting one of the Sandwich Islands to Great Britain as a landing station.
