The Union Company's steamer Talune, Captain E. Phillips, arrived from Sydney shortly before one o'clock yesterday afternoon. Mr. James A. Tubby, the purser, to whom -we are indebted for our files, reports :—The Taluue left Sydney Wharf at 5 p.m. on the 9th instant, clearing the Heads 40 minutes later. Passed the T'jree Kings at 8 p.m. and the North Cape at 11.50 p.m. on the 13th, arriving at the Queen-street Wharf as above. Experienced strong variable winds and seas for the first three days, thence heavy thick fog from 8 a.m. till 7 p.m. on the 13th, which necessitated stopping, after which fine weather till arrival. The Talune leaves for Southern Ports, Hobart, and Melbourne at 2 p.m. to-day. At 8 o'clock last night the Union Company's steamer Dingadee, Captain J. S. Adams, arrived from Wellington, Napier and the East Cotst, bringing a quantity of general cargo, included in which are transhipments ex Rimutaka and Otarama from London and Port Melbourne from Calcutta. Mr. J. P. Cowie, the purser, reports: The ; Dingadee left Wellington at 6 a.m. on the 11th*inst., and called at Napier on the 12th, Gisborne and Tologa Bay, Taparoa and Awanui on the 13th. ■ Had Tiritiri abeam at 6 p.m. on the 14th, and made fast to the A Queen street Wharf as above. castle. To-dav the brigantine Linda Weber will sail for Rarotonga. The briff&ntiiie Zeno sailed for the Kaipara for Sydney with a cargo of timber, on discharge of which she proceeds to Newcastle to load coal for Wellington. The schooner Sarah Pile is expected to complete her loading of timber at Rignall's mill, Thames River, for Rockhampton about the end of this week. Yesterday morning the Tyser Company's steamer Star of Victoria arrived at Wellington from this port. The schooner Waiapu, from this port to Gisborae, was passed by the Dingadee in the B*v of Plenty yesterday morning. Yesterday the steamer Fifeshire arrived at Melbourne from London, and on discharge of cargo proceeds to Queensland, to take in frozen meat, etc., for .London, coming over to New Zealand to complete her loading. The Shaw, Sarill, and Albion Company's barque Lutterworth, now on her way to this pert from Wellington, has on board a quantity of general cargo from Bristol, on discharge of which she loads up for London. The vessels in harbour were gaily decorated with banting yesterday, in honour of the marriaee of Miss Syms, daughter of Captain J. M. Syms, manager of the Hauraki S-S. Company. Yesterday 'the scow Ruakaka, which put into Marsden Point for shelter on Saturday last, resumed her passage to Whangaroa.
