NEW ZEALAND TIMBER IN ENGLAND.

Sib,—We have read with interest the article from your own correspondent on this subject. For several years past the Kauri Timber Company has had stocks of timber in all the large centres in Great Britain. This timber has been the best of the kind, very carefully sawn and graded, equalling in this respect timbers regularly sent to England from the United States, Canada, and the Baltic. Furthermore, the specifications were supplied by leading timber men • doing business in the parts to ; which the timber has been sent. Up to the present time the supply has exceeded the demand. The good qualities of the timber have been persistently brought under the notice of the trade, and the present increased demand is the result of this. Trouble has been caused owing to the fact thatsoveral,shipments have been sent to London in which there was a quantity of sap, and the sawing of which was not as regular as it might be. These shipments were not made by the Kauri Timber Company. At the present time a stock of timber cut for blocking is held in London. It is thoroughly seasoned and ready for immediate use.
