CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER.
[by telegraph.—press ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Friday. At the Magistrate's Court this afternoon, Wm. Thomas was committed for trial on a charge of manslaughter. Tho accused and Lawrence Gosling, wharf labouror, quarrelled on the 24th ult. when the latter called Thomas a liar. Thomas knocked Gosling down, and the latter sustained a fractured skull. He remained unconscious for eleven days and then succumbed.
