Wellington, Friday. At a meeting of the creditors of Mr. Andrew Young, the debtor said his son would offor 6d in tho £, provided that the bankruptcy was annulled. This was accepted subject to confirmation ab another meeting. An important point was decided in Chambers, by His Honor Mr. Justice Richmond, this morning, when he ruled that the users of a right over a strip of land other wise out of possession of person to whom it was granted, and in possession of the grantee of adjoining property, did not constitute a bar to acquisition of title by the neighbour through the operations of the statute of limitations. The point arose out of a caveat entered by Jacob Joseph against the bringing of property on Lambson Quay under tho Land Transfer Acb by the executors of the late C. W. Schultze. Two slight shocks of earthquake were felt ab 10.13 this morning. The Trades and Labour Council has endorsed the provisions of the Undesirable Immigrants Exclusion Bill, and invite other Councils to do likewise. They also passed a vote of thanks to the Hon. Mr. Reeves for introducing the measure. Captain Edwin reports that there ore now strong evidences that hard northerly gales must be expected in most parts of the country between noon to-morrow and noon on Monday. Christohurch, Friday. News has been received of the death in Sydney of Mr. J. Drummond McPherson, for many years the Christchurch manager of the South British Insurance Company.
