Mrs. Needle has been convicted on the charge of poisoning her husband and children, and sentenced to death. THE MARYBOROUGH TRAGEDY. Melbourne, September 27. An unexpected development has taken place in the Maryborough tragedy, a warrant having been issued for the arrest of Mrs. Vennell, mother of the children who were murdered. The police assert they have a prima facie case against her. Later, Mrs, Vennell has been arrested on tin charge of murdering her children. BEQUEST TO CATHOLIC SCHOOLS, Melbourne, September 27. The late Mr. Martin Loughlin'a estate is valued at a quarter of a million. He bequeathed £5000 to Roman Catholic schools and other institutions.
