[BY telegraph.— association.] Wanganoi, Thursday. At the Supreme Courb, laab evening, Fanny Marshall, charged with perjury, was found nob guilty. The whole of to-day has been occupied with the case, Regina v. Peapeali, a charge of perjury. The jury retired ab four o'clock, and not having agreed ab nine o'clock, were locked up for the night. The foreman said he did nob think there was the slightesb chance of the jury agreeing on an unanimous verdict. Pahiatoa, Thursday. The body of Joseph Gadsley, a settler, of Tutaekuri, was found in the Mangatainoko Kiver at Stirling Block. He had gone over after cattle, and not returning, his man went over in search, and found his dead body in the water. It is believed that the horse stumbled and fell with bim in crossing the river.

Dunedin, Thursday. The Workers' Political Committee has passed resolutions expressing sympathy with the workers in Queensland, especially with the labour members expelled from Parliament; urging the Government to establish a State Bank to provide the general currency of the colony ; soliciting the Government to institute a 44 hours' weeks' work in connection with labour employed, instead of putting all hands on full time, as by this means several hundred hands could he employed, thus considerably relieving the unemployed pressure; protesting against the right of election of licensing committees being taken from the people; deprecating an invitation being sent to members of the Royal Family about to viaib Australia, as large Hums of money would be spent in entertaining them, which could be more advantageously used in assisting the unemployed. -
