[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENTS.! Hamilton, Friday. At the Kirikiriroa Road Board meeting to-day there were present:—Mr. E. B. Co? (chairman), Messrs. Edgecumbe, Chitty Maclean, and Gordon. v Mr. Gordon mo?e< " That the letter-book be not initialled." Hi thought it was a slur upon the clerk. Mr. Cox said he was not an enemy of the clerk. ; Mr. Maclean seconded the motion. Mr Gerdon said it was the spirit with which th« innovation of the initialling ef the letter-book was referred to at the last meeting that mad* him make the remarks he did. Mr. Chitti proposed " That the letter-book be initialled, which was carried, Mr. Gordon's motior lapsing. It was resolved to re-build Hill'i Bridge, at Mill Creek. : The plans and specifications of i. the vert on Heaphy Terrace were received from the Borough Council, which called upon the Kirikiriroa Board to contribute one naif the cost of the culvert. Mr. Gordon proposed " That the Kirikiriroa Board withdraw from the project." This seconded by Mr. Chitty. Mr. Edgecunibe said it would, after all, be a subject for a commission. Mr. Cox proposed, That the contribution of the Kirikiriroa Board be one-third, • not ; one-half." Mr. Gordon's motion was withdrawn, and; Mr. Cox's carried. ~ Mr. Edgecumbe moved, " lhat the clerk be instructed' to write to the Waikato County , Council, asking the Council to give them the use of the Council Chambers as an office. The clerk said he had been clerk of the Board for 15 years. The office, held in his hquse, was open every day at all hours of the day. There was no real inconvenience to the public in holding the office where it but it would be a great inconvenience to himself. Only two persons had - come out to inspect the rolls during fifteen years. Mr. Chitty proposed, " That the offico be opened two hours on the day of the Board meeting, once a month, between the hours of 10 and 12." The motion was put and lost, Messrs. Edgecumbe and the Chairman alone voting for it. It, was proposed to ask the Bank of New Zealand for an overdraft, if ; required, not exceeding £600. The Bank balance was shown to be £339 os lOd in credit. A sum of £70 wai voted as a contribution'to the Hospital Board. V" : •' ■ /V:,'.'.;-
