THE AUCKLAND POULTRY ASSOCIATION.
The Auckland Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary .• f'v Show, which was opened in the Agricultural ,<j Hall on Thursday, • was largely attended throughout the whole of * yesterday, the exhibition being pronounced on all sides as , the finest yet held by the Association. As far as the collection of pigeons is concerned it certainly is the finest show of the kind yet />. •< r held in Auckland, and a better lot of. birds , it would be hard to find. The Plymouth xK- , rocks are also a special feature of the exhibi- • tion, especially those shown by Messrs. M. Priestly, W. T. Buckland, J. H. ■ B. Smales, and A. A. White The exhibits of Mr. Smales, for which he takes first and special - V prizes, are really fine birds. Mr. J. Walker, *„ the well-known breeder and fancier, of the '• . City Market, is the largest exhibitor, as also . « the most successful prize winner. The show » f 1 will be open from ten o'clock this morning ',*M| ( until half-past nine this 'evening. AH who I have not yet visited it should take advantage '""yj , of the opportunity afforded them to do so. J i The committee of the Auckland Poultry,' , Pigeon, and Canary Association have every - . : reason to be satisfied with their efforts, aa ' '-vjll , the show now open at the Agricultural ; Hall is in every department far ahead of v , everything ever attempted in Auckland. , This evening the team of footballers from s, * f I South Canterbury visit the show by invitation. As the snow closes to-night, it ia - advisable that all should take the advantage J 3 of seeing one of the very best collections of s birds ever exhibited in New Zealand. I, ; ■ ' >\t
