THE PREMIER AND TAWHIAO.

A MEETING SUGGESTED. [by telegraph.—press ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Friday. At the request of Tawhiao, Mr. Graham, J,P., of Hamilton, writes to the Premier asking him to arrange a meeting with Tawhiao in Waikato early in May. Mr. Graham believes ib is a sincere wish on the part of the native chiefs for Mr. Seddon now to meet Tawhiao, and ho thinks if a grant of land is given to the Maori King, he and his people would settle down on it, and his influence during the remaining years of his life would be used for the good of the Maoris in the northern portion of New Zealand. Mr. Graham is confident that all the white settlers would support the Government in this, and so end the native difficulty. The Premier has replied, stating he will be happy to meet Tawhiao in Wellington during the session.
