Notwithstanding the obstruction by the natives, and the other opposition to this road, the Government appear fully resolved that the work on this road shall proceed without any further delay. The Department of Lands and Survey are therefore inviting tenders up to Saturday, the 28th instant, tor the opening of this road by contract in three sections, extending over a distance of about ten miles. The work has to be completed in a month from the date of the acceptance of tenders, under the usual penalties. The Government have also arranged that a bridge shall be built across the ( ppuatia River within a month.
