PUBLIC SCHOOL STATISTICS.
INCREASED ATTENDANCE. . The quarterly school statistics received at the Board of Education yesterday show a large increase in the number of children attending the schools in the district. .The number of schools, including 30 half-time, are 312, being an increase of four since last quarter. The scholars on the roll number 25,190, as against 24,254 for the quarter ending December 31, 1893, showing an increase of 938. The average attendance for the lost three months has been 20,443, an increase of 794 over the last quarter. There are 752 teachers, of whom 50 are teachers of sewing only. The number of teaohors at the end ot the last quarter was 748.
