SAD DROWNING ACCIDENT.
THREE LIVES LOST. [BY TELKORAPH.—?KKSS ASSOCIATION.] Blenheim, Tuesday. Mrs. Humphries and child and Miss Wratb were drowned while crossing the Wairau River at the Waikakaho Ford last evening. No one saw the accident), bub it) is surmised that the saddle-girth broke and the dog cart tipped up, shooting the occupants into the stream. Search parties discovered the bodies of the two women in close proximity to the trap. The body of the cbrld, two years of age, is nob yet recovered. The body of Mrs. Humphries was much disfigured, but that of Miss Wratb was uninjured, her hand still clasping the whip. The trap overturned on entering the river, one wheel having goue into a bole. The horse was drowned in the shafts.
