THE COMING AGRICULTURAL CONFERENCE.

The secretary of the Agricultural Association (Mr. E. Hall) has received an intimation that the Government is prepared to give passes to the delegates appointed by the agricultural societies to attend the conference to be held at Wellington next mouth. Metropolitan associations can send two representatives, and the others one. We understand that the following are among the many subjects that will be brought forward on that occasion ; —Preventive measures to put down cattle and sheep stealing the rabbit question, and expenditure of revenue from the sheep tax; mortality amongst sheep ; circulating useful information amongst farmers; sheep for freezing purposes, all points considered; dairy produce, the best breeds of cows ; question of ilock oook; small birds nuisance; noxious weeds ; present rate of freight on stock and produce; the conveyance of poisons; consideration of the best means of promoting a better breed of horses in the colony, free passes on Government railways to show officials ; consideration and assimilation through out the colony of the rules and conditions of exhibitions; public abattoirs ; selling cattle by weight; and a. new edition of " Hooker's Flora." There is probably no subject of greater importance in its direct bearing upon the general prosperity of the colony than that of agriculture, and we anticipate much practical benefit from the deliberations of the Conference, :
