A BOATING DISASTER.

[by telegraph, —own correspondent.] Wjjanciarei, Thursday. A boating fatality has occurred on the coast here. Arthur Kitchen and a native named Wm. King, left Whangaruru in an open boat for Whananaki on the 9th April. The wind was then from the south-west with heavy squalls, The boat was last sighted by a cutter, close reefed, off Helena Bay. Grave fears were entertained for their safety all the week, and yesterday morning, the 17th» the boat was found badly smashed up on the beach by Mr. Tajb. The bodies have nob yeb appeared. The present easterly weather should bring them ashore. Both are young men. Kitchen is single, and has no relations here. He has lived with the Maoris more or less since a lad.
