SIR GEORGE GREY.
PROPOSED PUBLIC RECEPTION,
HIS SERVICES RECOGNISED. Press Association.—Electric Telegraph Copyright. London, April 17. The Marquis of Ripon, Secretary for the Colonies,, has informed Sir W. B. Perceval that the Imperial Government is quite willing to accord Sir George Grey every recognition in honour of his valuable services to the State.
The Colonial Institute intend to entertain him at a banquet. The Imperial Institute also is desirous of giving him a public reception, and the Agent-General of New Zealand will consult Sir George on the matter. London, April 18. Sir George Grey is delighted at the warm welcome he received on his arrival home, and i 3 especially pleased at the reception accorded him by Lords Ripon, Salisbury, and Knutsford.
Owing to the state of his health, Sir George Grey has declined a dinner which the colonial members ot the House of Commons proposed to entertain him at.
