The former asked that fruit might be on b right through : by; passenger train, so as not to wait about at Franktbn or the goods train,' it would then reach Auckland at 2.50," in time to be taken;to '% the auction rooms, and sorted that day for the next day's sales. /Mr. Hudson said if a ton of fruit were sent, he would run- a special truck through by passenger train, and that any of the; station-masters would, if only a few cases were sent, pub them in the guard's van %oh j; holidays, though no goods : were usually taken.
