A MAN DROWNED AT ONEHUNGA.
On Saturday afternoon the body of a man named John Murray, 47 years of ago, was found drowned in the Manukau ■ Harbour, between the Onehunga Wharf and Mangere Bridge. ; The - deceased, who has been :missing • from '■;' Thursday -' evening las was employed as a fireman on board' the Northern Company's steamer Gairloch, : and has been in ill-health for some time. "?, He had been in the Hospital for treatment and discharged, and had gone. back to his duty. He had been latterly attended ;. by Dr. Erson, of Onehunga. Murray was suffering from a peculiar form of brain disease, which at; times v temporarily ,; deprived him.i of memory and speech. : He2saw.Dr. Erson on Thursday morning, and was very despondent. The doctor • endeavoured to cheer him up. That was the ;last day ,he ; was seen alive, and he was reported missing to the police.- An inquest will be held this morning by Mr. S.
