BOMBAY HACK RACES.

The above events came off on Friday, the 30th of March, in Mr. Harris' paddock. There were seven events, and all were well contested, each rider going to win. Mr. R. Proude officiated as judge, Mr. John Sturgeon as starter, Mr. W. Norton clerk of the scales, Mr. H. Flay clerk of the course, and Mr. Thomas Perry secretary. Each event passed off without a hitch with the exception of the Maiden Plate. Deceiver was disqualified in this, he having won an advertised race at the Drury meeting. The results were as follow :— Handicap Hurdles, one mile and a-half: Waterton's John Thomas, 1; McDonnell's Kinross, 2; Rauwhiri's Damsel, 3. Maiden Plate : H. Carter's Dandy, 1; Taua Hauwhiri's Young King Quail, 2. Bombay Cup, one mile and three-guarters : Ryan's Locket, 1; McDonnell's Kinross, 2; Thompson's Mary Ann, 3. -■.■■■_ .
