THE FIRE BRIGADE'S COMPETITIONS.
[BY telegraph—press association]. Napier, Friday. The Fire Brigades' competitions ended today, when the following events were decided :— Hose, Hydrant., and Union Competition (for five men).. Dunedin Brigade, £15, 43 2-sth a. ... 1 Napier Brigade, £10, 46 1 sth s. 2 Spit Brigade, £7 10s, 46 2-sbh s. ... 3 Roslyn Brigade, £4, 46 3-sth a.... ... 4 Consolation, Hose, Hydrant, and Union Competition (open to all teams who had nob won £10 in any five-men team event). Palmeraton N. Brigade. £10, 37 l-sth s. 1 Wanganui Brigade, £7 10s, 39s „ 2 Gore Brigade, £5 10s, 41s. ... ... 3 Christchurch Railway Brigade, £2 10s, 42s i Aogregate Shield. Napier won the shield presented by Messrs. Shand, Mason, and Co. for highest aggregate, with 17 points. Dunedin City was second with 13, and Christchurch third with 11 points. Money Prizes. The money prizes won by the variouu brigades totalled as follows :—Dunedin £60, Christchurch £48, Timaru £44, Napieit £39, Gisborne £'2S, Ashburton £21, Palmers ton North £17, Gore £14 10s, Wanganui £12 10s, Hawera £11, lUngiora £10, Port Chalmers £10, Spit £9 10s, Hastings £7, Roslyn £6, Dunedin Railway £4, Greytown £4, Masterton A. £3, Christchurch Railway £2 10s, New Plymouth £2, Masterton £2.
