Mr. Richard Arthur's Weekly Report.--Business has not yet recovered the effect of the holidays. Limited demand at lower prices for most lines. Potatoes : Stocks j lighter, but only good, fresh, well-bagged ones command attention; others difficult to get off at any price. Growers must be careful to send only first samples, and not to glut the market. Onions in fair demand at Tate prices. Vegetables in large supply, prices ruled low. Fresh butter brought fair prices, supply, j much smaller. Spring-made corned butter goes off slowly at s|d to Gd. Cheese quiet, | still a quantity of old Southern in the market, and a good number of inferior local. It is hoped another week or so will clear i these out, and the market will be steadier. Grain moved off slowly at late prices; a rise has taken place in sharps.
