Bank of New South Wales : Thames county, 2900z Oiwfc 12gr; Ohinemuri county, 4oz Odwb 12gr.; Thames) borough, 590z 13:lwt: total, 3590z l4dwt. The Bank of New Zealand. lias granted the request of the Borough Council that the Council's overdrafts shall be increased t to £2000 ; but has given the Council to understand that the relief is only temporary; ' At the meeting of the Council to-nighfc the Mayor referred to the unsatisfactory state of the finances, and with a view to bringing forward ' some . scheme whereby the burden on : the ratepayers can be lightened, the whole, matter of .finance was referred to the Finance Committee to consider and report. . : •■■■ *■» j»--
