DUNEDIN STABBING AFFRAY.
THE INQUEST. [BY TELEGRAPH.— association. Dunedin, Friday. The inquesb into the death of William Mudge, who .was stabbed at South Dunedin, was continued this afternoon, but not concluded. Three witnesses were called, and there are two yet to be called. From the evidence of Frank Hewitt, ib would appear thab ib was in the fighb with Donaldson, in which Ashton took part, thab Kufner lost his pipe and stick. Kufner, after looking for the pipe, went up to Ashton, struck a match, and held ib to Ashton's face, saying, "I will know you again." They were going away when Ashton wenb up to Kufner and attempted to strike him. Kufner told him to stand back and watch himself, " or," he said, "I will put it into you." AsDobson and Kufner were going away Ash ton and Donaldson rushed on them, and knocked them down with their fists. Dobson and Kufuer went away. Mudge followed, and some time afterwards witness heard a blow. Witness did not go to see what was the matter till some minutes afterwards.
