New Zealand long-berried wheat, ex warehouse, from 295; South Australian wheat, ex warehouse, firm at 29s 6d; Victorian, steady at 29s 3d. The weather is hardening the wheat market. , The New Zealand hemp market is unchanged. . ... New Zealand frozen mutton : First quality, 4£d; second quality, 4£d. Danish butter is 124s per cwt. * : INVERCARGILL WOOL SALES. Inveroaegill, January 5.-The wool sales opened to-day, the catalogue offered comprising 7,000 bales. Competition was keen, and prices all round snowed an improvement on last year. Half-breds were a farthing to a half penny lower: fine crossbreds a half-penny to three-farthings higher; medium and coarse crossbreds a Earthing to a half-penny higher; merino.bJought the same as last year ; pieces and bellies are selling well, bringing a penny over last year.
