The Union S.S. Company's steamer Talune, Captain ,C. W. Todd, arrived at half-past two o'clock yesterday afternoon from Melbourne, Hobart, ana Southern ports. Mr. James A. Tubby, the purser, reports that the steamer left Melbourne at 6 p.m. on the 23rd, and passed Swan Island at 1 m. on the 24th, arriving at Hobart at 7 a.m. on the 25th. Left again at 11 a.m. on the 26th, arriving off the Solander Island at 1.30 p.m. on the 29th, and reaching th« Bluff at 6 p.m. the same day. There wore also a number of rams transferred to the Waihora for Gisborne. The Northern S.S. Company's steamer Wellington left for Whangarei last night. She returns to-night. Last evening the Northern S.S. Company's steamer Chelmsford left for Tauranga and Whakat&ne. The Union S.S. Company's steamer Takapuna, from the South and New Plymouth, is timed to arrive at Onehunga at 8 o'clock tonight. Yesterday the Union S.S. Company's ateam ar Pukaki was berthed at the Hobsonstreess wharf, and started discharging her cargo of coal Her departure for Newcastle has been postponed until Monday next. Tho barquentine Cuthona was yesterday taken alongside the barque Morven, in order to tranship a portion of her Island cargo into that vessel for London. At the Hobson-street Wharf the Island steamer Richmond is undergoing a thorough overhauling and cleaning. She leaves for Rarotonga and Tahiti on the 24th instant. The Union S.S. Company's steamer Upolu is due from Samoa, Fiji, and Tonga, on Friday next. The barquentine Chittoor is discharging her cargo of oats from the Bluff at the Queenstreet Wharf in fine condition. It is probable that the vessel will load timber for a West Australian port shortly. On Thursday next the Union S.S. Com§any's steamer Mararoa is due from ydney.
