THE AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS.
SERIOUS CHARGES.
Press Association.— Telegraph.—
Sydney, December 11. Mr. Victor Cohen', manager of the Australian Eleven, has given his version of affairs. He states that some members of the team were drunk time after time, and on occasions attempted violence against him. Several of the men were absolutely unmanageable, and he says most of the trouble came from the Adelaide contingent.
Trott alleges that only a £50 or £60 dividend was declared as the financial result of the tour, but Cohen denies the correctness of this statement.
Lyons says the manager was generally disliked.
Coningham alleges that Blackham would not allow him to indulge in fast bowling owing to his difficulty in wicket-keeping for his fast deliveries, and complains that he only had three overs in several months.
Melbourne, December 11.
The Victorian members of the Australian Cricket Team were extended a cordial welcome on their return here today.
