CAUTION TO BUYERS. , Much misunderstanding and misapprehension arises among buyers of Gas Engines owing to the misleading use made by many makers of the indicated horse POWER. Some, while stating the power and consumption relating to the INDICATED power, suppressing that word and leaving it to bo inferred, if not actually suggesting that it is the brake 01' ACTUAL HORSE power, i.e., THE power that THE BUYER may take FROM the engine. Unquestionably the unfamiliarity of the users of Gas Engines with the proper significance of these terms has been traded upon in the past, few makers even referring to the Actual Horse Power developed by their Engines. In every instance be careful to have the special kind of Horse Power that is dealt with defined.
