SIR JULIUS VOGEL.
Our London correspondent —There is a rumour current in the city that Sir Julius Yogel is likely to succeed Mr. J. S. FiizGerald as Controller-General of New Zealand.. The rumour does not receive very general credence. lam not in a position to judge of its probability in existing political circumstances. I feel quite sure the appointment would be very acceptable to Sir Julius. By the way, I hear that Sir Julius Vogel has severed his connection with the New York Life Insurance office in consequence of certain re-arrangements that have been carried out.
