London, August 2. Sin E. Grky, Political Under-Secretary for the Foreign Office, replying to a question re the blockade by France in tSiam, stated that only one British steamer was stopped, and that only temporarily. lie stated that the blockade was an error, but the loss to trade had been very slight.
Mr. Balfour said if Lord Rosebery, the Foreign Secretary, had abstained from advertising the opinion that Great Britain had no interests in Siam, France would have been discouraged from annexing territory there.
