The following; additional returns of the results of school committee elections have been received :—

Pokkno. —At the annual meeting about 40 persons—nearly the whole rank and file of the place—turned out to exercise their privileges. Mr. F. W. Pyue was voted to the chair, and Mr. Sheffield, the chairman of the outgoing committee, gave in a report of the doings of the past year. Messrs. C. Jackson, George Dean, and J. McPherson, were appointed scrutineers. Nine names had been handed to the chairman on 17th inst., but the meeting further nominated Messrs. R. Pendergrast and J. J. Clark. The result of the election was :—W. Appleby, 31 ; R. Pendergrast, 29; D. Chapman, 25; T. W. Bates, 25; W. H. Dean, 24 ;J. J. Clark, 22 ; C. Jackson, 20; James Brown, 15; Heward, 7 Jno. Adams, 6; H. Prideaux, 5. The chairman declared the first seven duly elected. At a subsequent meeting of the committee, Mr. J. J.Clark was unanimously chosen as chairman for the ensuing year.— [Own Correspondent.] Kaukapakapa.— Ihe annual meeting of householders took place on Monday evening. Mr. Robert Sinclair was voted to the chair. The balance-sheet for the year ended 31st March, 1893, was read and adopted, and showed a credit balance of £13 5s Gd. Mr. G. W. Murray, head teacher, repotted that the average attendance for 1892-3 has been 55, the largest since the opening of the school, and seven more than the previous year. The number on the roll was 83. It was suggested that the working and not the strict average should be adopted, at least as a basis with regard to the number of teachers employed. All present unanimously concurred in this view. The following gentlemen were duly elected a school committee : Messrs. Charles Andrews, Frank Dye, Jas. Drinuan, Ralph Osbaldiston, Gavin Shanks, jun., Morris Clark Henley, and Robert Sinclair. The meeting then adjourned. At the newlyelected committee meeting Mr. R. Sinclair was again elected chairman. The following motion was then put and carried without dissent:"That the chairman write to the Board that the committee are of opinion that the working average should be substituted for the strict average, at least as a basis with regard to the number of teachers employed." It was agreed that the chairman ask for three trucks of scoria for school paths, the committee to cart and spread the same out of the school funds.— Correspondent.] Ohaupo.— following were elected a school committee :— T. Edwards, J. Cassidy, H. Kusabs, A. Graham, Hungcrford Roche, A. Jones, and J. T. Prince. A meeting was then held, and Messrs Edwards and Roche were elected chairman and secretary respectively. A letter was read from the Education Board stating that a sum of £24 10s had been placed to the credit of the committee for repairs to the teacher's residence. Whatawhata. —Thirteen candidates were nominated. The polling was as follows :—R. Bruce, 15; T. C. Blackett, 15 ; W. Waters, 15; A. M. Fergusson, 15: W. A. Laxon, 13; W. W. Hicginson, 11; Martin Fitzgerald, 8; P. Iwerson, 8; W. McCutcheon, 7; A. Calder, 7; W. Wilson, 6; T. Kempthorne, 4; A. Crawford, 4 ; Messrs. Fitzgerald and Iwerson beiug tie for seventh place. Mr. Iwerson withdrew in favour of Mr. Fitzgerald, who has children attending the school. At a subsequent meeting. Captain Bruce was elected chairman, and Mr. W. W. Higginson secretary and treasurer. NoAniNEPOURi. — The following were elected :—W. Reid (chairman), F. L. Vickers, C. B. Vickers, H. Davys, and W. Livingstone. Te Kowai.Messrs. H. Wavman (chairman), W. Laxon, G. Little, R. Blecock, and A. Hunt were elected a school committee.
