Three* thousand peasants in Kharkoff persisted in lying on the rails over which a train conveying the Czar would have to pass until His Majesty consented to hear their grievances. Before the train was brought to a standstill many of the peasants were crushed, while the soldiers killed many others in the melee, in which fifteen of the soldiers were also killed. The Czar was much enraged at the peasants, and quite upset with terror.
