ATHLETIC SPOUTS.
CRICKET. The Auckland Dairymen's Cricket Club concluded the season yesterday afternoon by a match between the town and country members of the trade. The game was a very in toresting and pleasant one, the scores being as follows :— Town.—Hurndall, run out, 0; Midgly, b Dunning, 0; Choyce, c Sexton, b Greenwood, 1 ; Diddams, b Greenwood, 6; Moir, b Dunning, 6; Partington, b Greenwood, 4; Bowden, b Dunning, 2; Hoyes, not out, 1 ; Jones, run out, 0; Strange, b Dunning, 2; Watcrhouse, b Greenwood, 5 : total, 29. Country.—Billington, lbw, b Choyco.ll; McGninness, run out, 2; Dunning, st Hurndall, 6 ; Greenwood, b Choyce, 2 ; Sexton, b Choyce, 8; Quinlan, b Diddams, 17; Stewart, b Choyce, 7 ; Hill, not out, 1; Moselen, not out, 2; extras, 2 : total for 7 wickets, 58. In the evening the two teams dined together at Robson's Rooms, Mr. Jones presiding. The usual toasts were given, " Success to the Club" being proposed by Mr. Diddams (Nowton C.C.), and responded to by Messrs. Hurndall and Billington. A hearty vote of thanks was tendered to Mr. Butler for his efficient services as secretary during the season. Altogether au enjoyable evening was spent, several of the gentlemen present giving songs and recitations. LAWN TENNIS. At the Parncll lawn yesterday afternoon the final round of the handicap matches for the photographic album presented by Monsignor McDonald was played off between Miss Mowbray and Miss Kilgour. The ground was much too damp and slippery for any brilliaut rallies, but the game all through was an interesting one. Miss Mowbray proved the winner in spite of the heavy handicap she was required to give Miss Kilgour (owing 15 and giving 30 in each game). The scores were 6 -4, 6—4. Preparations are already being made to get the lawns in order for next season by digging up the bare patches and sowing the same with grass-seed. REPRESENTATIVE TEAM OF 'CYCLISTS. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS association.] Christchurch, Wednesday. At a meeting of the New Zealand 'Cyclists Alliance tonight, it was unanimously decided to send a New Zealand team of 'cyclists to compete at the Australian Amateur Championship, to be held in Sydney next spring. It was resolved to send four representatives, to ask the affiliated clubs to contribute towards the expenses of the team, and to hold & trial meeting if necessary.
