MASONIC.
The monthly meeting of Lodge Eden, No. 1530, E.C., was held on April 25 at the Masonic Hall, Newton, and was well attended by members of the three Constitutions. There was a considerable amount of business transacted, including four affiliations and three initiations. Severe comments were made by the brethren upon th» mis-statements published in the Craftsman of the 17th April, in their report of the Lodge having left the New Zealand Constitution. A resolution was passed by the Lodge contradicting the same, and that the attention of the District Grand Master be called thereto. The Lodge was closed, and tho brethren adjourned to refreshment, and, after a most cordial meeting, separated.
The regular meeting of Lodge United "Service, No. 10, N.Z.C., was held last evening, in the Freemasons' Hall, Brother 11. A. Ellison, W.M., presiding. Thero was a fair attendance of members and visitors, and amongst the latter were visitors from Nelson and South Australia. Two brethren wore admitted to the Master .Mason's degree. The ceremonies were somewhat prolonged. The following nominations for the officers of the lodge for the ensuing year were received and adopted : — W.M., Brother Andrew Ericsson; S.W., Brother W. McGuire; J.W., Brother M. 11. Keosing ; treasurer, Brother L. 11. Neumegen ; secretary. Brother T. W. Allen ; S.D., Brother J. Barley ; J.D., Brother Chrystal; director of ceremonies, Brother P. M. Ellison ; senior steward, Brother Thwaites ; junior steward, Brother Vol lui ere; 1.G., Brother Carter; tyler, Brother Tonge. Brother Craig was elected chaplain of the lodge, an office which has been vacant for some years.
