New Zealand Herald Office, Wednesday evening. The Customs duties to-day amounted to £96819 a. __ KAURI GUM MARKET. The following is the report of the gum market and ruling quotations, as furnished to us by the committee of gum merchants :— Ordinary £47 to £48 Poor ordinary £30 to £45 East Coast £70 Supplies from Ist insfc. to date, 055 tons. Better lots of ordinary, well-cleaned, are worth from £49 and upwards, according to quality and degree of cleaning. There has been a much weaker market the past week, some lines having been sold at £48, this being a full of £3 per ton on last week's Hales. It is to be regretted the quality of ordinary is still falling off. BY TELEGRAPH. DUKE DIN OATS. DtrNEDtN", April 28.—Oats are coming to hand freely, and nearly all going into store. The quantity offered is limited, and this tends to keen the market firm. The local millers having now a supply, are not disposed to give the prices lately ruling for milling sorts. A fair demand, however, exists for export. Should reports be reliable as to the shortage in yield all over this season, stocks hold in stores should meet with a better market further on. The quotations are for prime milling, Is 8d to Is BJd ; extra prime, a shade more; best bright stout short reed, la 7W to Is 8d ; medium to good, Is 7d to Is thd; inferior, Is 6d to Is OJd; long Tartarians, clean and well saved, best Is 9a to Is lOd, medium Is 7d to Is B,£d, ex store sacks extra net.
